Sharla Marie Epling

Sharla Marie Epling, 35, of Lee County, GA, died August 20, 2014 on the day of her birth. Funeral services will be held Sunday at 4:00 PM at Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Carl R. Barnhardt will officiate.

A native of Albany, GA, Sharla had lived in Lee County, GA since 1992. She graduated from Lee County High School in 1997, received her Bachelor's Degree from the University of Georgia and her Master's Degree from Valdosta State University. Sharla was a speech language pathologist and was the owner of Flutter's of Speech.

Sharla was an active member in the American Speech Language Hearing Association and was also honored the prestigious award of 40 Under Forty, which recognizes young, ambitious professionals. Family and friends were Sharla's passion and delight. She was a very compassionate and caring person who would help anyone in need as well as animals. Sharla will be greatly missed by her loving family and friends.

Survivors include her parents, Lee and Donna Epling, her brother and sister-in-law, Brandon and Catlin Epling and her maternal grandparents, Ruth and Jim Demulth all of Lee County, GA.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Saturday at Mathews Funeral Home.
