Sara Cushenbery Willis

Sara Margot Cushenbery Willis, 95, of Leesburg, GA died Thursday, January 3, 2019 at Pruitt Health Care-Sylvester. Funeral services will be conducted Monday, January 7, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Wallace Willis and Dr. Johnny Nixon will officiate. Interment will follow in Leesburg Cemetery.

Born in Dawson, GA, Mrs. Willis had resided in Albany, GA and was a graduate of Albany High School. She later moved to Leesburg, GA. She was a retired CNA with Palmyra Nursing Home and was a member of Amazing Grace Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Opie Watson Willis and a daughter, Janis Messer.

Survivors include a daughter, Nancy Lynn Harp and her husband, Morris, a son, Alan “Wade” Willis and his wife, Eudocia all of Lee Co., GA and six grandchildren, Thomas Scott Harp, Terri Lynn Harp Davis, Alan Watson Willis, Thomas Wade Willis, Joseph Alexander Willis, Donna Lynn Messer Turner, eleven great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.

The family will receive friends Monday, January 7, 2019 one hour prior to funeral services at Mathews Funeral Home.
