Sara A. Houston

Sara A. Houston, 78, of Americus, GA formerly of Sylvester, GA, died January 4, 2019 at Magnolia Manor Nursing Home. Graveside funeral services will be held Monday at 1:00 PM at Floral Memory Gardens Cemetery. Rev. Aaron McCulley and Ronnie Poole will officiate.

Mrs. Houston was born in Dothan, AL on December 26, 1940 and had lived in Albany, GA since she was seven years old before moving to Sylvester, GA. She was a wonderful mother, wife and homemaker and was formerly employed with W, G & L and WALB. Mrs. Houston enjoyed crocheting and painting. Mrs. Houston was preceded in death by her mother, Mable Marie Webb and her husband, Otha Larry Houston.

Survivors include her children and their spouses, Dr. Chris and Missy Houston of Athens, GA, Nickie and Dennis Ferguson of Lee County, GA, Marie and Ronnie Poole of Albany, GA, Amy and Kenny Hall of Lee County, GA and Mariann and John Galbert of Sylvester, GA, eleven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

The family is at the residence of Marie and Ronnie Poole.
