Sara Davis Daniel, 79, of Lee County, GA, died June 30, 2018 at Willson Hospice House. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2:00 PM at New Hope Baptist Church. Rev. Bruce Smith will officiate. Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery.
A native of Worth County, GA, Mrs. Daniel was born to the late Rufus Jack and Ruby McDonald Davis on October 3, 1938. The family moved to Albany where she grew up and attended school. Mrs. Daniel met her late husband, William Allen Daniel and they married January 9, 1954. They moved to Lee County in 1959 where they raised their family.
Mrs. Daniel was the former owner of Pelham’s Grocery and was a member of New Hope Baptist Church where she was a member of the Bereavement Committee and a former choir member. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Foster Davis, Travis Davis, R.J. Davis, Aline Anderson and Hazel Puckett.
Survivors include her daughters and their husbands, Melinda and Richard Shuemake and Penny and Ron Brooks all of Lee County, GA, Bonnie and Buck Stover of Douglasville, GA and Patty and Ken Buntin of Athens, GA, her siblings, Betty Stroud and her husband, Virgle of Lee County, GA, Celia Rogers of Georgetown, GA, Rex Davis and his wife, Coleen of Albany, GA and Huey Davis and his wife, Angie of Lee County, GA, her grandchildren, Richard Allen Shuemake of Lee County, GA, Marley Solito of Newnan, GA , Billy (Katie) Buntin of Oviedo, FL, Kyle (Airiana) Buntin of Loganville, GA Kayla Shuemake of Jackson, GA, Lacy Stover of Douglasville, GA and Haley Brooks of Lee County, GA and five great-grandchildren, Leah, Ellie, Crew, Lilah, Evie and Gavin.
The family will receive friends at the social hall of New Hope Baptist Church Tuesday one hour before the service.
