Sandra Lee Shipman

Sandra Lee Rittenhouse Searcy Shipman, 76, of Leesburg, GA, passed away Tuesday, August 29, 2017 at Wynfield Park Health and Rehab. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, September 2, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Charlie Rouse will officiate. Interment will follow at Floral Memory Gardens Cemetery. Sandra was born in Virginia Beach, Virginia to the late Raymond and Sarah Rittenhouse. She graduated from High School in Honolulu, HI. She was married to the late Joe Allen Searcy, Sr., the father of her children, and worked as a Dental Hygienist. She would later marry the late Curtis Lanier Shipman. She was of the Baptist faith and was a member of Liberty Parkway Baptist Church. Many will remember Sandra from her 24 years of employment at Jimmie’s Hot Dogs. Survivors include her children Joe (Jill) Searcy, Melinda (Steve) Henry both of Leesburg, GA, Anthony (Ronica) Searcy of Flowery Branch, GA, and Jesse (Tracey) Searcy of Winnsboro, SC, her siblings Raymond D. (Diane) Rittenhouse of Spring Hill, FL, and Rodney W. (Dianne) Rittenhouse of Virginia Beach,VA, Grandchildren Melinda Anne (Thomas K.) Joiner, Phillip J. Searcy (Victoria Randall), Brian (Hope) Gilliam all of Leesburg, GA, Jason (Candace) Gilliam of Albany, GA, Randall Searcy of Sugar Hill, GA, Ashley (Ryan) Albright of Flowery Branch, GA, and Jessica (Ricky) Roper of Beaufort, SC, and her Great Grand Children Elizabeth Joiner, Thomas A. Joiner, Serenity Van Der Maarel, Briley Gilliam, and Archer Albright. The family will receive friends Friday from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Mathews Funeral Home. The family is at the residence of Melinda and Steve Henry.
