Samuel C. Waters, Sr

Samuel C. (Sam) Waters, Sr., 75, of Albany, GA, died August 22, 2014 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. Memorial services will be held Tuesday at 3:00 PM at Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Josh Duckworth will officiate.

A native of Pottstown, PA, Mr. Waters served in the United States Air Force during Vietnam and was transferred and stationed at Turner Field in Albany, GA. He had lived in Albany, GA for over forty years and was a self employed long haul trucker before his retirement and was employed with Albany Industrial Distributors for twelve years. He was a member of Porterfield United Methodist Church, loved to play golf and was a member at Radium Country Club, River Pointe County Club and most recently, Stonebridge Country Club.

Survivors include his wife, Judy Carr of Albany, GA, two children, Heather (Mark) O'Connor of Lee County, GA and Staci (Ashley) Hawkins of Topeka, KS, a brother, Tommy (Ann) Waters of Millford, DE., a sister, Junie Clendaniel of Ellendale, DE, ten grandchildren, Dustin (Sherita) Townsend, Troy Townsend, Elizabeth O'Connor, Raeanne O'Connor, Mark (Carrie) Garcia, Casey (Rob) Patterson, Sammy C. Waters, III, Gaige Christopher, Taylor Hawkins and Charli Hawkins, two great grandchildren, SoMaiya Patterson and Noah Townsend, He was preceded in death by two children, Gretchen Townsend and Sammy Waters.

The family will receive friends one hour before the service at Mathews Funeral Home.
