Samuel "Sam" Pickron, Jr.

Samuel “Sam” L. Pickron, Jr. of Lake Blackshear, formerly of Albany, died Friday, May 17, 2024 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. 

His memorial service will be 2:00 PM, Monday at Mathews Funeral Home.  Rev. Lee Cadden will officiate. 

A native of Colquitt, GA, Sam had lived in Albany for 53 years before moving to Lake Blackshear.  He was retired from Proctor and Gamble.  He was a 1966 graduate of Miller County High school and loved to hunt fish play golf but most of all spending time with his family. 

He was preceded in death by his parents Samuel and Madge Pickron, Sr.  

Survivors include his wife, Debbie Gerst Pickron, daughter, Lacey Pickron Cadden (Lee), son, Marty Pickron (Christy), grandchildren, Finley Cadden, Amos Cadden, Rowan Cadden, brother-in-law Robert Campbell, sister-in-law Sue Gerst, several nephews and a niece.
