Sallie Lucille Breeden

Sallie L. Smith Breeden, age 95 of Leesburg, GA passed away Monday, October 10, 2011, at Willson Hospice House. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 2:00 PM at First Baptist Church of Leesburg. Interment will follow in Leesburg Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the Church. Rev. Bobby Moye, Rev. Kelly Pritchett and Rev. Bobby Harrell will officiate. The Fidelis Sunday School Class will sit in an honorary group.

Born June 15, 1916, in Crisp County, GA, she was the daughter of the late Quinn R. Smith and the late Minnie Blizzard Smith. Mrs. Breeden was a homemaker for 29 years, raising eight children before being employed and retiring with the Lee County School System.

She was a lifelong and active member of the First Baptist Church of Leesburg. Mrs. Breeden served on the Baptism and Benevolence committees and was an active member of the Fidelis Sunday School Class. Mrs. Breeden was preceded in death by her husband, Dock R. Breeden, Sr. and a daughter, Laura Breeden Jackson.

Survivors include her children, Luther D. Breeden and his wife, Dee, Dock R. Breeden, Jr. and his wife, Angie, Norman R. Breeden, Billy H. Breeden and his wife, Joy, Donnie Breeden and his wife, Wanda, and Connie Bacon all of Leesburg, GA and Jerry A. Breeden and his wife, Terry of Vienna, GA, fifteen grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren and a sister, Lee Breeden of Marianna, FL.

The family will be at Mrs. Breeden's residence, 229 Leslie Hwy., Leesburg, GA, 31763.
