Sadie Mae Alday Golden, 84, of Albany, GA died Monday, August 26, 2013 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 29, 2013 at Mathews Funeral Home at 1:00 p.m. Rev. Tom Pollock and Ross Powell will officiate. Interment will follow in Little Ochlocknee Baptist Church Cemetery.
A native of Thomas County, GA, Mrs. Golden had resided in Albany for the last 30 years. She was a retired clerk from the Marine Corps Logistics Base and Firestone. Mrs. Golden was a member of Sherwood Baptist Church, Friendship Sunday School Class and an avid card player. She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry J. and Mary L. Benton, two husbands, William Dell Alday and Robert L. Golden, a brother, Billy Benton, and a son, David Alday.
Survivors include a longtime companion, Vince Franklin of Albany, GA, two sons, Larry Alday (Jackie) of Albany, GA, and Danny Alday (Charlene) of Ocala, FL, two grandsons, Dax Alday (Melissa) of Albany, GA, and Levi Alday (Kourtney) of Acworth, GA, five great-grandchildren, Dalton, Lance, Cason, McKenzie, and Addison, a brother, Charles Benton (Betty) of Ochlocknee, GA, and four sisters, Polly Condon of Monroe, GA, Sylvia Wilson (A.D.) of Ochlocknee, GA, Betty Rhoden (Gene) of Ochlocknee, GA, and Janice Becknell (Brad) of Ocoee, FL.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, August 28, 2013, at Mathews Funeral Home from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
