Russell Martin Melton

Russell "Russ" Martin Melton, 54, of Albany, GA, passed away Sunday, June 14 2015 at Carl Vinson VA Medical Center in Dublin, GA. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, June 17, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at New Hope Baptist Church, Lee Co., GA. Rev. Bruce Smith will officiate. Interment will follow in Leesburg Cemetery.

Born in Phenix City, AL, Russ graduated from Dougherty High School in 1979. He served in the United States Army. Russ' passion was UGA football "GO DAWGS", traveling, umpiring baseball, and fishing.

Survivors include his wife, Coleen Melton of Albany, GA, two sons, Brandon Melton (Charity) of Albany, GA, Zach Melton of Parrott, GA, a daughter Brittany Taylor (Allen) of Tallahassee, FL, his mother, Glenda Faye Hicks Melton of Putney, GA, three sisters, Glynis Britt (Mike) and family of Sylvester, GA, Robbie Hughes (Ronnie) and family of Leesburg, GA and Sonya Spillers (Phil) and family of Leesburg, GA, and two step children, Chris Rinner and Michelle Corbett, both of Albany, GA.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Mathews Funeral Home.
