Ruby Frances Lewis Stroud

Ruby Frances Lewis Stroud, 90, of Leesburg, GA, died Sunday, April 13, 2014 at Lee County Health and Rehabilitation. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at East Albany Baptist Church. Rev. Chuck Smith and Rev. Marion Sizemore will officiate. Interment will follow in Ebenezer Baptist Church Cemetery, Crisp Co., GA.


A native of Cordele, GA, Mrs. Stroud had resided in Lee Co., GA most of her life and was a homemaker. She was a member of East Albany Baptist Church and was preceded in death by twin children, two sons, Donald G. Stroud, Jerry Roger Stroud and her husband, George Pierce Stroud.

Survivors include three sons, Russell Stroud (Hazel), Rev. A. B. Stroud (Carol) all of Leesburg, GA, Randy Stroud (Sharon), Bronwood, GA, two daughters, Shirlene Stroud Baker (Tom), Tallahassee, FL and Connie Stroud Jones (Tommy), Leesburg, GA, thirteen grandchildren, Roger Stroud, Ricky Stroud, Melinda Howell, David Kolody, Donald Stroud, Bryan Stroud, Evie Carroll, Jason Stroud, Tommy Jones, Brandi Hunter, Dianna Adkins, Sherry Lynn Clark and Karole Lynn Stroud, twenty one great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Mathews Funeral Home.
