Ruby Smith Drinkwater

Ruby Smith Drinkwater, 97, of Morgan, GA, passed away January 21, 2017 at Morningside Assisted Living in Columbus, GA. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, January 26, 2017 at 11:00 am at New Light Free Will Baptist Church, Morgan, GA. Rev. Watson McKemie, Rev. Mike McAfee and Rev. Joe Murkerson will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Born February 4, 1919, to Alexander Washington Smith, Jr. and Mattie Eula Howard Smith in the Patmos Community, in Baker County Georgia. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Willie Lehman Drinkwater, son, Willie Dean Drinkwater, daughter, Shirley Kelly, grandson, Charles Edward Cosby, sister, Lula Virginia Smith, brother, Phil Smith and sister, Lila Gertrude Jackson.

Survivors include her daughters Patricia Myhand (Glenn) of Columbus, GA, and Montez Hammack (Shep) of Dunwoody, GA, four sisters Lee Turner of Shellman, GA, Odell Turner of Shellman, GA, Annie Maude Paul of Edison, GA, and Jessie Ruth "Dot" Milner of Dickey, GA, five grandchildren Nancy Grajewski, Linda Robitscher, Christina Payne, Terrance Paul Kelly, and Kenneth Elliott Cosby, and nine great-grandchildren, Nicholas Cosby, Isabell Cosby, Matthew Grajewski, Christina Grajewski, Walker Robitscher, Emily Payne, Morgan Payne, Ethan Kelly, Ashley Kelly and six nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the church's social hall.
