Ruby Wilson Beck

Ruby Wilson Beck, 89, of Gainesville, GA, formerly of Albany, died Wednesday, June 17, 2015 at Northeast Georgia Health Systems. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, June 21, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Charles Jones will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

A native of Lula, GA, Mrs. Beck had resided in Albany from 1984 until 2014 moving from Cocoa, FL. She was the 1943 salutatorian graduate of Americus High School and retired as an accounting clerk with the Brevard County School Board. Mrs. Beck was a member of Gillionville Baptist Church and the Friendship Sunday School Class, member of the DAVA #37 and a Gold Star Wife. She was preceded in death by her husband, Sargent 1st Class Edward Beck and her son, John Ed Beck from Columbia S. C., two sisters, Mary Lou Smith, Pauline Cavender and a brother, William D. Wilson all of Americus, GA

Survivors include a daughter and her husband, Suzanne and Terry Colvin, formally from Albany, GA, a son and his wife, Jim and Linda Beck from Land o' Lakes, FL, daughter-in-law, Sherry Beck of Columbia, SC, five grandchildren, Stacy B. Bradford and her husband Ryun of Portland, OR, Bonnie L. Phifer and her husband Peter of Columbia, SC, Craig Beck and his wife Gina of Tampa Palms, FL, Heather C. Stoltz and her husband David of Watkinsville, GA Beverly C. Yeary and her husband US Navy Lt. JG Michael Yeary of Gulf Port, MS, two step-grandchildren, Lydia McSwain of AR and Terrance Colvin and his wife Lori of IL, six great grandchildren, Payton and Heath Bradfield, Wesley Linder and Levi Phifer, Morgan Beck, Isabelle Stoltz and two more great grandchildren soon to be born "Baby Stoltz and Baby Yeary", several nieces and nephews.

Family will accept friends Sunday, June 21, 2015 from 1:00 pm until 2 pm at Mathews Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers the family asks donations be made to your local hospice in honor of Ruby Beck
