Roy Lee Spence

Roy Lee Spence, 66, of Baconton, GA died Monday, July 10, 2017 at his residence. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, July 13, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Travelers Rest Free Will Baptist Church. Rev. Matthew Stone will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Born in Worth Co., GA, Mr. Spence had resided in Baconton, Ga for the past twenty-five years.
A veteran of the Vietnam War, serving in the United States Army, he was a heavy mobile equipment mechanic employed with MCLB and was of the Baptist faith. Roy was an avid race fan and was involved with G & S Racing and S & S Racing. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Lee Spence and Ida Lee Cooper Spence.

Survivors include his wife, Glenda Ethridge Spence, a son, Roger Lee Spence (Dana), two daughters, Trena Dale Spence (Jackson) and Jennifer Marie Grant (Michael) all of Baconton, GA, a brother, Paul Virgil Spence, Albany, GA, two sisters, Martha Jane Miller, Albany, GA, Grace Wynell McKinnon, Sylvester, GA, fourteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Mathews Funeral Home.
