Roy Futch

Roy Futch, 74, of 188 Hartley Lane, Leesburg, GA, died January 24, 2012 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. Graveside funeral services will be conducted Friday at 11:00 AM at Leesburg Cemetery. Rev. Bobby Moye will officiate.

A native of Calhoun County, GA, Mr. Futch grew up in Leary, GA and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. After his service, he moved to Lee County, GA in 1958 and spent most of his adult life as a farmer. He was also employed as a security guard and was a driver with G&G Go-fers. Mr. Futch was a member of Alpha Baptist Church

Survivors include his wife, Bertha Avery Futch of Lee County, GA, three sons, Michael Futch of Albany, GA and Randall (Tami) Futch and Terry Lee Futch all of Lee County, GA, a brother, John Ed (Donna) Futch of Thomasville, GA, three sisters, Dolly Shaw of Lee County, GA, Francis (Don) Person of Madisonville, LA and Mary Weir of Donaldsonville, GA, two grandsons, Michael Earl Futch and Johnathan Roy Futch both of Lee County, GA, three step-granddaughters, Heather Everett and Samantha Hurst both of Lee County, GA and Heidi Smith of Albany, GA, his beloved dog, Fruitcake and a number of nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Thursday at Mathews Funeral Home.
