Ross Cook, 83, of Albany, GA, died April 13, 2016 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held Monday, April 18, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Billy Hanna will officiate. Committal services will follow at 2:00 PM at Boykin Church of God Cemetery in Miller County, GA.
A native of Miller County, GA, born to the late Irvin and Mae Long Cook, Mr. Cook was a former farmer and moved to Albany, GA in 1957 to work at Flint River Mills. After working nineteen years at Flint River, he was employed with Merck Chemical for twenty two years as a warehouseman before his retirement. Mr. Cook was a former member of First Freewill Baptist Church in Albany, GA and was currently a member of Boykin Church of God.
Survivors include his wife, Inez Haire Cook of Albany, GA, a son and his wife, Rusty and Wanda Cook of Dacula, GA, a daughter and her husband, Theresa Cook Williams and Doc Rufus Williams of Leesburg, GA, three brothers, Jimmy Cook and his wife, Beverly of Cairo, GA, Ronnie Cook and his wife, Kaye and Charles Cook all of Bainbridge, GA, two sisters, Sybil Cook of Albany, GA and Marsha Gail Cook of Columbus, GA, five grandchildren, Kimberly King and her husband, David Colorado Springs, CO, Doc Robert (Robby) Williams , Derich Williams and his wife, Dawn all of Lee County, GA, Zack Cook and his wife, Brittany and Blake Cook and his wife, Kati all of Albany, GA and fifteen great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, D.F. Cook and Ray Cook.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM at Mathews Funeral Home.
