Ronald Eugene Bryant, (US Navy, Ret), 77, of Albany, GA, died peacefully in his sleep Thursday, June 19th, 2014, surrounded by his family. A memorial service will be conducted Sunday, June 22, 2014 at 2:00 PM at Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Billy Hannah will officiate.
Ron was born in Bainbridge, GA, April 4th, 1937. He served 23 years in the U. S. Navy and 23 more years as a civil servant at the Marine Base in Albany, GA.
Ron was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend to all. He was a member at First Free Will Baptist Church where he sang in the choir and loved the Lord. He was an extremely strong, kind and loving man, and was always the first person to lend a helping hand to anyone that needed one.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 53 years, Yvonne Edwards Bryant, parents J. W. and Iris (Edmunds) Bryant, and sister, Charlotte (Bryant) Dixon. He is survived by his brother, Charles (Sue) Bryant, Albany, GA, sister Mavis Sellers of Arkansas, sister Linda (Gary) Fowler, of Georgia, four daughters, Debbie (Bob) Teusch of Anderson, SC, Sharon (Brad) Graham of Leesburg, GA, Ann Bryant of Albany, GA and Dawn (Coy) Crowley of Albany, GA, eight grandchildren, who meant the world to him, and ten great-grandchildren, who, due to his disease, never really got to know the wonderful man he was.
The family will receive friends and family Sunday at Mathews Funeral Home following the memorial service.
