Roger Glen Brooks

Roger Glen Brooks, 69, of Albany, GA, died October 6, 2024 at his residence. A memorial service will be held Saturday, October 12, 2024 at 2:00 pm at Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Mark Walker will officiate.

Roger was born in Honolulu, HI on May 9, 1955 to Billy and Shirley Brooks. He traveled and moved from place to place as a Military Brat. Roger’s family moved to Albany, GA in 1971 where he lived in Radium Springs and attended Dougherty High School, but graduated from Baker High School in Baldwinsville, NY. He returned to Albany after high school and resided there until his death.

Roger was a numismatist by trade and enjoyed buying and selling antiques. He loved to Travel. He was a member of First Freewill Baptist Church and the Southwest Georgia Coin Club. Roger enjoyed fishing and especially playing golf. He played at the American Legion, Radium Springs and River Pointe Golf Club. 

He leaves behind his children, Kimberly Brooks Byrd and Michael P. Brooks both of Crestview, FL, his siblings, Steven L. Brooks of Luverne AL, Robert F. “Bob” Brooks Augusta GA (Deceased), Ron Brooks of The Villages, FL and Billie C. Craig of Myrtle Beach SC, his grandchildren, Joseph Brooks, Brandon Brooks, Keili Byrd, Jeremiah Byrd, Juliana Byrd, Carson Brooks, Carter Brooks, Jakoby Byrd and Maverick Brooks.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm before the service at Mathews Funeral Home.
