Rodney Dexter Humphries

Rodney Dexter Humphries, 48, of Worth County, GA died May 1, 2014 at his residence. Funeral services will be conducted Monday, May 5, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Charles Jones will officiate. Interment will follow at Floral Memory Gardens with Military Honors.

A native of Pelham, GA, Mr. Humphries grew up in Albany, GA graduating from Albany High in 1983. After graduation he enlisted in the United States Army, was stationed in Colorado and served in Desert Storm. Mr. Humphries had resided in Worth County, GA since 2001 and was employed by the Georgia Department of Transportation where he was a Highway Maintenance Foreman. He was preceded in death by his father, L.J. Humphries and a brother Wendell Humphries.

Survivors include his mother, Geraldine Howell and his step-father Lynwood Howell of Albany, GA, a daughter, Alicia Pollard of Worth County, GA, two sisters, Debra Atkinson and her husband, Ray of Ashburn, GA and Amanda Williams and her husband, Greg of Leesburg, GA, two brothers Larry Humphries of Worth County, GA and Mark Humphries and his wife Kim, of Albany, GA and fourteen nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 7:00 PM until 8:30 PM at Mathews Funeral Home.

The family will be at the residence of Geraldine and Lynwood Howell, 5419 Newton Road, Albany, GA.
