Robert Franklin (Bob) Watson

Robert F. (Bob) Watson, 73, of Albany, GA, died Monday, April 14, 2014 at Columbus Speciality Hospital, Columbus, GA. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, April 19, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. at Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Bobby Moye will officiate. Interment will follow at Floral Memory Gardens Cemetery with military honors.

Robert Watson was born in Milford, GA, in the same corner of the house as his mother. He married his high school sweetheart, Jerlynn Smith in 1961. He served in the United States Air Force for over twenty years, serving in Vietnam and various locations around the US and abroad.

Once he retired, he worked as an officer manager in the car business, retiring from Albany Lincoln Mercury in 2011. He always put in one hundred percent effort to any job and valued honesty and integrity above all else. He loved going to the beach, eating seafood and spending time with his family. Faith and family were his motivations in life.

Survivors include his wife, Jerlynn Smith Watson, Albany, GA, two daughters and their husbands, Jackie Watson Wilkinson (Joey), Lee Co., GA, Kristen Watson Sheriff (Richard), Carrolton, GA, four grandchildren, Candace Watson, Lee Co., GA, Payten Reever, Kings Mountain, NC and Morgan Reever, Albany, GA, Summer Wilkinson, Lee Co., GA and four great-grandchildren. Mr. Watson was preceded in death by his parents Woodrow and Sara Watson, a daughter, Jodie Watson Reever and a grandson, Julian Reever.

The family will receive friends Saturday at Mathews Funeral Home from 1:30 p.m. until the funeral hour.
