Robert E. Smith

Robert Emmit Smith, 87, of Worth County, GA, passed away Friday August 14^th, 2020 at Pruitt Palmyra Health Care after a brief stay.  Graveside funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11:00 AM at Pine Forest Baptist Church Cemetery.  Rev. Trey Brown will officiate.  Visitation will be held one hour before the service in the church Sanctuary.

Robert was born in Washington, DC on June 6, 1933 to Herbert A. Smith and Laudress Kincheloe Smith.

He is survived by nephews, Bill Acord (Renee’) and Ricky Acord all of Sylvester, GA and Mary Dee Balara (Randy) of Pine Knoll Shores, NC.

He was a kind and gentle man known for his happy smile.  Everyone who knew him, loved him.  Robert was a long time client of Albany ARC and had many lifelong friends of caseworkers and caregivers.

He loved to eat M & M Candy and watch Western movies.  Robert liked to go to the mall with caregivers and ride around with his nephew, Bill.  He loved to stay with his nephew and niece, Bill and Renee’ during holidays and birthdays and visit Pine Forest Baptist Church with them.  Robert will be missed by all his friends and family.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Dorothy Acord Begley, and a brother, Albert Smith.
