Robert C. "Carl" Slaughter

Robert C. “Carl” Slaughter, 78, of Albany, GA and Ft. Gaines, GA died Sunday, April 6, 2025 at their residence in Albany, GA. Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 10, 2025 at 11:00 am at Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Chad Ellis will officiate. A private entombment will follow at The Crown Hill Mausoleum.

Carl was born on August 20, 1946 to the late Robert Fulton and Grace Brooks Slaughter. He grew up in Albany, GA, started working with his father at an early age in the family business, Slaughter Paint and Body and graduated from Albany High School in 1964. Carl met and married Kathy Milton in 1968, continued working at Slaughter Paint and Body and took over as the second-generation owner in 1977 until his retirement in 2000. Carl and Kathy were members of Christ Church in Albany, GA.

Carl and Kathy moved to the lake in Ft. Gaines and enjoyed the lake life for twenty-five years. He loved the lake, boating, water skiing and fishing. Carl was also an avid deer hunter.

Survivors include his wife, Kathy Slaughter of Ft. Gaines, GA, two children, Amy (Corben) Pate of San Antonio, TX and Chad Slaughter of Lake Blackshear, GA and four grandchildren, Destin Pate of San Antonio, TX, Aiden Pate of Seattle, WA, Garrison Slaughter of Auburn, AL and Jennings Slaughter of Albany, GA.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 10:00 am until 11:00 am at Mathews Funeral Home.
