Robert Jackson Prince Sr

The funeral service of Robert Jackson ( Bob ) Prince, Sr., 80, of Leesburg, GA, who died Saturday April 3, 2011 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital will be conducted Tuesday April 5, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Mathews Funeral Home with full military honors. Rev. Steve Waldron will officiate.

A native of Glen Morgan, West Virginia, Mr. Prince had resided in the Albany and Leesburg area since 1987. He retired from the Marine Corps as a MSGT and retired from civil service in 2000 as a computer programmer. He was a member of the VFW Post # 2785, NRA, AARP, an avid hunter and was preceded in death by a grandson, a brother, James Prince and a sister, Isabell Hagar.

Survivors include his wife, Joyce McDaniel Prince, Leesburg, GA, four sons, Robert J. Prince, Jr., Beckley, WVA, James Earl Prince, Colorado, William Prince, Colorado, Michael Lee Prince, Beckley, WVA, a daughter, Catherine Prince, Beckley, WVA, a step-son, Rusty McDaniel (Denise), Albany, GA, two step-daughters, Debra Long (Edward) and Donna Sumners (Tom) all of Leesburg, GA, two sisters, Anna Lee Beck, Dry Fort, VA, Mary Williams, Chattanooga, TN, sixteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Monday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Mathews Funeral Home.
