Robert Manning Powell

Robert Manning "Gilbert" Powell of Tennessee Ridge, Tn. passed away Monday March 20, 2017 at his residence. Graveside services will be held Friday at 2:00 p.m. at Crown Hill Cemetery. Rev. Buddy Powell will officiate.

He was born August 4, 1929 in Ocilla, GA. Son of the late Thomas Lindsey Powell and Lillie Mae O'Malley Powell. He was preceded in death by his parents, and children Carlos Ray Powell, Kathy Corbett, Siblings Fred Powell, Theo Powell, Jimmy Powell, Henry Powell, Edwina Baneston.

Survivors include sons Robert Powell, Thomas Powell, Henry Powell, William Emory Powell, sisters , Eloise Handley, and brother William "Pee Wee" Powell, 14 grandchildren, and 21 great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Friday March 24, 2017 from 12:00 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. at Mathews Funeral Home.
