Robert E. Miller

Robert E. Miller, 79, of Albany, GA died early Wednesday morning May 7, 2014 at Wilson Hospice House. Funeral services will be held Friday, May 9, 2014 at 6:00 PM in the chapel of Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Bobby Moye and Rev. Caleb Miller will officiate. Interment will be at 11:00 AM the following morning, May 10, 2014 at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Thomasville, GA..

A native of Miccosukee, FL and having been raised in Ochlocknee GA. Mr. Miller was born to the late Nathaniel D. and Emma C. Miller. He was a graduate of Ochlocknee High School and was retired from the Southern Bell / AT&T. Mr. Miller was a veteran of the Korean Conflict having served as a paratrooper as well as communications.

Mr. Miller was a member of Radium Springs Baptist Church and the American Legion Post 30.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara Miller of Albany, GA, a son, David Miller and his wife Debbie of Decatur, AL, a daughter Selina (Joy) Bentley and her husband, Alton of Albany, GA, grandchildren, Josh Miller and his wife Brooke of Birmingham, AL, Rev. Caleb Miller and his wife Amy of McBee, SC, Brooks Johnson and her husband, B.L. of Thomson, GA, and Curry Bentley of Albany, GA. One great grandson, also survives him, Pierce Johnson of Thomson, GA.

The family will receive friends during a celebration of life following the funeral service Friday at 6:00 PM at Mathews Funeral Home.
