Robert John McCarthy

Robert John "Bob" McCarthy, 57, of Albany, GA., died Saturday, November 16, 2024 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. A memorial mass will be held Friday, December 6, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Teresa’s Catholic Church. The Very Rev. Raymond Levreault will officiate.

Bob was born in Philadelphia, PA to the late John Joseph and Mary Grace "Mickey" McCarthy. The family moved to Albany, GA in 1976. Bob graduated from Albany High School in 1985. then moved to St Petersburg/Clearwater, FL and the Philadelphia area for several years before returning to Albany, where he lived for the remainder of his life. Bob really enjoyed music, especially heavy metal, creating art and his cats. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and was a member of St. Teresa’s Catholic Church.

Survivors include his sister, Pinky Ogilvie (Donnovan), his longtime special friend and caretaker, Judy Ivins, his nephew, Jacob Shufelt, his niece, Katie Shufelt, his great nephew Levi Shufelt and a great niece, Harper Hutzell.
