Robert Wiley Bushnell

Robert Wiley Bushnell (1945-2024), age 79, passed away peacefully surrounded by family in Albany, GA. Robert was born in Los Angeles, California, to William M Bushnell and Ailene White. He graduated from Black-Foxe Military Academy, where he lettered in football and baseball. He attended Santa Monica City College before joining the Navy on the USS Eversole, where he became the radar man. He then married Lynne Huebel, and they had two beautiful children, Christopher and Brooke. Bob (as he was known by most) was extraordinarily hard-working and proved this when he joined Goldman Sachs as a mail runner in the 70s. 

He was soon transferred to the Goldman Sachs San Francisco office, where he worked up the ranks to become President of Compliance. Bob was then transferred to Japan for three years, where he started the Tokyo office of Goldman Sachs. He met the love of his life, lona Gosa, in Texas, where they spent their retired years on Lake Athens, where they could fish, boat, ride motorcycles, and entertain all of their friends. Bob is preceded by his parents, Ailene and William, his stepfather, William Young, and his brother, William Bushnell. 

He is survived by his wife, lona Bushnell; his brother Gary Bushnell and wife Jean; his children, Christopher Bushnell and wife, Pamela and Brooke Toohey; and husband Peter; his stepson, Tim Carter; and his wife, Lisa; his nieces and nephews and their children; his grandchildren, Jack Bushnell, Addison Toohey, Emery Toohey, Landon Carter, and wife Ashley and great-grandchildren, Zeke Carter, Stella Carter, and Jaxx Carter. 

There will be no formal service; Bob's ashes will be spread on the waters of Lake Athens, his happiest place. In lieu of flowers, you can donate to Willson Hospice House in Albany, GA
