Robert P. (Bob) Blalock, 69, of Albany, GA, died October 17, 2016 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 4:00 PM at Avalon United Methodist Church. Rev. Thad Haygood and Rev. Debbie Cone will officiate. Interment will follow in Oakview Cemetery with Military Honors provided by the American Legion Post # 30 Honor Guard.

Bob was born on January 29, 1947 in Albany, GA to the late Paul J. and Margie Ruth Blalock. He graduated from Albany High School and served in the United States Army during Vietnam.

After his military service, Bob was employed with the Dougherty County Police and was employed with the Florida State Patrol in the Homicide Division until his retirement in 1986. Upon his return to Albany, he was employed with Do Co Credit Union as a Collection Officer. Bob was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Albany, GA.

Survivors include his wife, Kaye H. Blalock of Albany, GA, two step-daughters, Jennifer (Ken) Collins of Lee County, GA and Billie Jean Finger of Albany, GA, two grandchildren, Robbie Collins and Max Collins, and a sister, Janice (Bill) Miller of Worth County, GA. He was preceded in death by a brother, Samuel Jerome Blalock.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6:30 PM until 8:00 PM at Mathews Funeral Home.
