Robert Preston (Bob) Allen

Robert Preston (Bob) Allen, 73, of Lee County, GA, died April 24, 2016 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. A celebration of Life and Remembrance will be held Wednesday from 2:00 PM until 6:00 PM at 169-B Sandy Beach Road, Leesburg, GA, 31763.

A native of Hazlehurst, GA, Bob grew up in Albany, GA and graduated from Albany High School in 1960. He served his country during the Vietnam War in the United States Navy. He was a graduate of Emory University where he was a member of Chi Phi Fraternity. Bob was employed with Tracyco Inc. for forty-two years and was a member of Sherwood Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Grier Smith Allen of Lee County, GA, his sons, Burke Allen of Atlanta, GA and Dixon Allen and his wife, Chandra of Valdosta, GA, his mother, Ruth Dixon Allen of Iron City, GA, his sisters, June Massey and her husband, Lee of Iron City, GA and Jane Purvis and her husband, Lee of Franklin, TN, two grandchildren, Gracie Tucker of Clayton, GA and Cooper Coleman of Jacksonville, FL and an uncle, Gene Dixon of Savannah, GA.
