Rita Mae Lloyd

Rita Peace Lloyd, 69, of Albany, GA, died April 2, 2016 at her residence. Funeral services will be held Monday at 1:00 PM at Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Ken Chancellor will officiate. Interment will follow at Crown Hill Cemetery.

A native of Colquitt, GA, born to the late John David and Johnnie Mae Donley Peace, Rita was raised by her grandparents, John and Julie Mae Donley. She graduated from Miller County High School in 1964 and moved to Albany, GA in 1966.

She was employed with MacGregor Golf Company and retired from Coates and Clark. Rita was a member of Lakeside Baptist Church and the Adult 4 Sunday School Class. She loved her church, flowers and gardening and doing for others.

Survivors include her husband, William E. (Buddy) Lloyd of Albany, GA, her son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Deborah Lloyd of Dawson, GA, a sister, Pat Rentz and her husband, Steve of Bainbridge, GA, a brother, Charlie Peace of Albany, GA, two grandsons, John Lloyd of Dawson, GA and David Lloyd of Athens, GA and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by an infant son, John Edward Lloyd and a brother, John David Peace.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Sunday at Mathews Funeral Home.
