Rita Gail Kirksey-Moree

Rita Gail Kirksey-Moree, 77, of Albany, GA, died April 23, 2024 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital.  Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 27, 2024 at 2:00 pm at Mathews Funeral Home.  Rev. Bill Suggs will officiate.  Interment will follow in Live Oak Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery in Baker County, GA. 

Gail was born at home in Baker County, GA on April 18, 1947 to the late Charles Bostwick and Bexie Musgrove Kirksey.  She graduated from Baker County High School in 1965 and attended and graduated from Albany Technical College. 

Gail moved to Albany, GA in 1967 and owned and operated ACT III Beauty Salon.  She loved to read, especially her Bible.  Gail loved her grandchildren and nieces and nephews and she enjoyed going to work to be with her clients, all of whom she loved.

Survivors include her husband, Gary L. Moree of Albany, GA, her step-children, Scott (Rhonda) Moree, Worth County, GA and Christopher (Teresa) Peak  of Tampa, FL, her siblings, Barbara Whitaker of Albany, GA, Joe (Rosemary) Kirksey, Deborah Kirksey and Marcia (Scott) Gatlin, Wanda (Steve Peace) Sanders and Pat Mathis all of Lee County, GA and Dee Tait of Valdosta, GA, four grandchildren, Tyler (Charity) Moree of  North Carolina,  Jake (Ashley) Moree of Worth County, GA, Abigail and Ella of Tampa, FL and six great-grandchildren. 

Special thank you to her niece, Tara Morgan, for her love and support during Gail's illness.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm at Mathews Funeral Home.
