Richard Glenn Rogers, 61, of Albany, GA, died Sunday, February 15, 2015 at Willson Hospice House. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. at Life Christian Center International. Pastor Stan Glass will officiate. Interment will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery.
Born in Albany, GA and a life- long resident, Mr. Rogers was in retail grocery business for most of his life. He started with Ervin's Supermarket at a young age, then continued with Rubos for twenty plus years, before starting his own business "Ricks Warehouse Meats". Other business ventures included building homes and property management. Ricky loved hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family. He was a member of Life Christian Center International and had a close relationship with his savior Jesus Christ. He was a generous and loving man who will be missed by all who knew him.
Mr. Rogers was preceded in death by his parents, Rufus Edward Rogers and Flora Catherine Barrentine Rogers, two brothers, Rufus Rogers, Jr. and Bob Rogers.
Survivors include his wife, Diane Taylor Rogers, a son, Mike Rogers, a daughter, Lisa Rogers Childress all of Albany, GA, a son-in-law, Jason Childress, Dawson, GA, a brother Donnie Rogers, Albany, GA and four grandchildren, Harley Paul Rogers, Richard Michael Rogers, II, Chloe Jade Childress and Thomas Jason Childress, II.
Those serving as pallbearers are Scottie Lewis, Fuzzy Lewis, Terry Hart, Tracy Hart, Jamie Taylor, Matthew Harrell, Sammy Smith and Bubba Brown.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Mathews Funeral Home.
