Richard Poitevint

Richard Van Poitevint, 66, of Albany, GA, died July 2, 2023 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.  Memorial services will be held Friday at 11:00 am at Mathews Funeral Home.  Mr. Ross Powell will officiate.

Richard was born in Albany, GA on November 13, 1956 to the late Perry and Sallie Morey Poitevint.  He attended school in Albany and moved to Florida in 1987, then to Atlanta and returned to Albany in 1994.  Richard worked in the construction business all of his adult life and was a master trim carpenter.  He enjoyed playing pool and fishing.

Survivors include his children, Mandy (Ian) Rosario of Wylie, TX, Richard V. Poitevint of Howe, TX and Brooke A. (Brice Baumgartner) Poitevint of Van Alstyne, TX, his grandchildren, Miana Rosario, Justina Rosario, Dominic Rosario, Olive Poitevint and Charlotte Baumgartner, his siblings, Joann Jones, Betty (Donny) Watson and Shirley Ahern all of Albany, GA, Jimmie (Pam) Poitevint of Lakeland, FL and Janice (David) Salter of Worth County, GA and the mother of his children, Cathy Wilkinson of Howe, TX.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 am to 11:00 am Friday at Mathews Funeral Home.
