Richard A. King, 64, of Albany, GA, died March 6, 2015 at his residence. Funeral services will be held Monday at 11 at Mathews Funeral Home. Dr. Garvin Akridge will officiate. Interment will follow in Floral Memory Gardens Cemetery. Carl Young, John Franklin, Charles Kirksey, Kirk Strohman, Roger Davis and Joel Eubanks will serve as active pallbearers.
A native and lifelong resident of Albany, GA, Richard graduated from Albany High School in 1969 and joined the United States Navy. He was employed with Carlton Company for over 35 years and retired from Flint Equipment Company. One of Richard's greatest pleasures was camping and fishing and spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife, Sharon Chambliss King of Albany, GA, a son and his wife, Brian P. and Ashley Hornek of Perry, FL, three brothers and their wives, Larry and Sandra King of Darien, GA, Thomas and Rita King and Randy and Kathy King all of Albany, GA, a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Kevin and Beth Chambliss of Avondale, PA and a granddaughter, Hadley Coulter. Richard was preceded in death by his mother and father, Nadine and Frank King.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 4 until 6 at Mathews Funeral Home.
