Richard M. Jackson

Richard M. Jackson, 73, of Albany, GA, died May 2, 2018 at Willson Hospice House. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10:00 AM at Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Bill Suggs and Rev. Charles Smith will officiate. Interment will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery. Richard was born in Bainbridge, GA on April 30, 1945 to the late Andrew and Juanita Jackson, Sr. He was raised in Baker County, GA and moved to Albany, GA in 1962. He was a Pecan Farmer and was employed with Thompson Brothers Farms, Magnolia Plantation and Champion Farms. Richard was a member of Southside Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon, Director of the R.A.’s and Sunday School Director. He was preceded in death by a sister, Pauline Cooper and a brother, Jay Jackson. Survivors include his wife, Mary Jackson of Albany, his daughter and son-in-law, Tonya and Rodney Bryan of Lee County, GA, his son, Ricky Jackson of Albany, his siblings, Peggy Suggs and her husband, Bill and Jessie Jackson and his wife, Sandra all of Lee County, two sisters-in-laws, Denise Jackson of Lee County and Helen Zilora and her husband, Butch of Manchester, CT, a brother-in-law, Gary Cooper of Lawrenceville, GA, his grandchildren, Brittany Vierling and her husband, Kevin of Topeka, KS, Kristina Webster and her husband, Ricky of Lee County and Joshua Bryan and his wife, Jennifer of Pearson, GA, four great-grandchildren, Aaron Webster, Ian Webster, Rebecca Bryan and Blake Tucker and adopted children, Samuel Broome and his wife, Phyllis of Albany, GA, Vernon Broome and his wife, Lacy of Thomasville, GA and Melissa Timms and her husband, Ray of Lee County.
