Richard Dix Hobbs

Richard Dix Hobbs, 80, of Lee County, GA, passed away Tuesday, April 05, 2016 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. Graveside funeral services will be conducted Friday, April 8, 2016 at 11:00 am at Floral Memory Gardens Cemetery. Rev. Jimmy Hagadorn will officiate.

Born and raised in Mitchell County Richard moved to Lee County in 1965 and has resided there ever since. He was retired from the Albany Fire Department with over twenty six years of service. Richard was preceded in death by all of his five brothers.

Survivors include his wife of sixty one year's Mary Ann Hobbs, a son Richard Hobbs, a daughter Terrie Hobbs all of Lee County, five grandchildren Kirk Hobbs, Nicole Hobbs, Randy Garlock, Autumn Garlock, and Katie Hobbs, and two great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Mathews Funeral Home.
