Richard Thomas (Ricky) Doherty

Richard Thomas (Ricky) Doherty, 26, of Albany, GA, died Friday, November 30, 2014. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 11:00 AM at The First United Methodist Church of Albany. Rev. Don Adams will officiate.

Ricky was a native of Albany and lived there most of his life, He attended Deerfield Windsor School and Gainesville State College. Ricky was employed with Doherty, Duggan, Hart and Tiernan Insurors in the position of Business Development Coordinator. He was a member of The First United Methodist Church of Albany.

Ricky had a big servants heart that bled Red and Black. He loved hunting, snow skiing and all sports. Children and the elderly were special to him, he never met a stranger. His boundless spirit, contagious laugh, and wonderful sense of humor touched everyone.

Survivors include his parents Rick and Pam Doherty, two sisters Cameron Doherty and Shannon Doherty all of Albany and his grandmother Odessa McMinn of Warner Robins, GA. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Thomas E. McMinn, Jr, Richard A. Doherty and Betty W. Doherty.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
