Richard Render Comerford, 83, of Albany, Ga passed away Monday, May 6, 2024 at Phoenix of Albany, GA. Memorial service will be announced at a later date.
Mr. Comerford was preceded in death by his parents, Richard Comerford and Anita Render Comerford, and siblings, Annette Fort and Barbara Horner.
Born in Trenton, NJ on March 9, 1941. He was raised by Richard and Anita Comerford with three sisters, Annette, Georgine, and Barbera and spent many summers working at the Comerford Homestead in Bunker Hill, IN. After graduating from Trenton High School in NJ, he joined the U S Navy in 1959-1962, and served on the USS Little Rock.
After being honorably discharged from the Navy, he became a member of the New Jersey Highway Patrol, before they merged with the NJ State Police. He served twenty seven years with the State Police stationed in Bordentown, NJ, Hopewell, NJ, and West Trenton (Wilburtha) retiring in 1995.
He dedicated his whole life raising his children and spending his time with his family. He was always there for his family and his door was always open to all.
Survivors include his children, Michael P. Comerford and his wife Stacey, Albany, GA, Scott R. Comerford and his wife, Gina, Iveyland, PA, Richard Comerford, PA, Colleen Comerford, Hamilton, NJ, a sister, Georgine C. Horner and husband Barry of Ephrata, PA, eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and many cousins, nieces, nephews
