Richard Douglas Bryant

Richard Douglas (Rick) Bryant, 70, of Lake Blackshear, GA, died March 5, 2016 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 3:00 PM at Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Scott Stanfill will officiate. A private interment will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery.

A native of Dublin, GA, born to the late Richard and Jean Phillips Bryant, Rick grew up in Macon, GA, graduated from Lanier High School and attended The University of Georgia. He moved to Albany, GA in 1978 and was the former owner of Dixie Beer Company. Rick was a member of Porterfield Memorial United Methodist Church and Doublegate Country Club. He had a passion for hunting and enjoyed spending time at the cabin and family farm.

Survivors include his wife of twenty one years, Valerie Garabedian Bryant of Lake Blackshear, GA, two sons, Dustin Allen Fowler and his wife, Alexa of Athens, GA and David Brady Fowler and his wife, (Selby) of Albany, GA, two daughters, Jean Bryant Dudley and her husband, Blake of Cartersville, GA and Tammy Bryant Beall and her husband, Jon of Macon, GA, a sister, Christy Bryant Gantley of New London, Iowa, his grandchildren, Chase Bryant Dudley and Chamblyn Blake Dudley both of Atlanta, GA, Mary Kathlyn Beall and Bryant Whaley Beall both of Macon, GA and Ethan Patterson Dudley of Cartersville, GA, his nieces, Gena Bryant Chalfa and her husband, Matt and Leslie Bryant Jackson and her husband, Christopher all of Atlanta, GA, his nephews, Austin Bryant and his wife, Allyson of San Francisco, CA and Parker Weaver of East Patchogue, NY, his cousins, Cheryl Bryant Vogt and her husband, John, Jason Vogt and his wife, Danielle and Megan Vogt all of Athens, GA and a dear friend, Bruce Hayes. He was preceded in death by a brother, Bruce Eugene Bryant.

The family will receive friends one hour before the service at Mathews Funeral Home.
