Richard E. Brown

Richard E. Brown, 82, of Lee County, GA, died January 5, 2018 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. A visitation will be held Saturday, January 13, 2018 from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM at Mathews Funeral Home. A native of Hartford, CT., born to the late Raymond and Althea Brown, Mr. Brown grew up in the family business and owned and operated East Hartford Express Moving and Storage Co. for twenty seven years. After his retirement, He moved to Morriston, FL in 1989 and to Lee County, GA in 2006. Mr. Brown was a NASCAR fan and enjoyed boating and fishing. He liked working the Flea Market and riding Harley’s. Mr. Brown was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose # 2785. He was preceded in death by a son, Raymond A. Brown. Survivors include his wife, Shirley S. Brown, two sons, Richard G. Brown and his wife, Beverly and Robert J. Brown all of Lee County, GA, a daughter-in-law, Stacey Hahn Brown of Albany, GA, a sister, Marlene B. Accolla of Ocala, FL, four grandchildren, Richard W. Brown of Loganville, GA, SSgt Randall G. Brown of Ft. Carson, CO, Eric Tyler Brown and his wife, Haley of Hampton, GA and Nikole E. Brown of Williston, FL, three great-grandchildren, Evan William Brown, Alexis Nicole Brown and Ariana Elizabeth Brown.
