Rev. Perry E. Lamey

Rev. Perry E. Lamey, Sr., 83, of Albany, GA, died Monday, November 2, 2015 at his residence. Funeral services will be held Friday, November 6, 2015 at True Life Church of God at 3:00 pm. Rev Chris E. Turner and Rev. W.A. Bingham will officiate. Interment will follow at Floral Memory Gardens where Rev. Earl Lamey and Rev. Bob Prince will officiate.

A native of McCrory, AR., Rev. Lamey has lived in Albany, GA. since 1984. He was an ordained bishop with the Church of God and served as pastor in Lexington, AL, Salem, OR., Moultrie, GA., Carrolton, GA., Dublin, GA., Bainbridge, GA., Albany, GA. and Pelham, GA., where he retired after almost 60 years of faithful service. He served on the Church of God of South GA. State Board for a number of years. He enjoyed watching football and was an avid Atlanta Braves fan. Rev. Lamey built a church and parsonage in Bainbridge, GA and built churches in Albany, GA and Pelham, GA. He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Elizabeth Lamey, a brother, Paul Lamey, a sister, Bessie Lamey, two sons, Gregory Lynn Lamey and Perry E. "Eddie" Lamey, Jr. and a great grandson, Bradley Jay Turner.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Thelma M. Lamey, a daughter, Regena Turner (Chris), four grandsons, Chris Turner (Sara), Jonathan Turner (Tricia), Ben Turner and Josh Turner, two great grandsons, Bowden Turner and Wyatt Turner, all of Albany, GA., four sisters, Alma Ball, AR., Nola Wilson, MO., Madie Ponder (Joe), AR., Mae Waddell (Wesley), AR., three brothers, Rev. Earl Lamey (Hazel), GA., Gerald Lamey (Jackie), AR., Sam Lamey (Karen), AR. and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Thursday, November 5, 2015 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Mathews Funeral Home.
