Rev. Ira L. Carlisle

Rev. Ira L. Carlisle, 84, of Leesburg, GA and Arlington, GA died Wednesday, March 20, 2013 in Arlington, GA. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, March 23, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Bruce Smith and Rev. Tommy Carlisle will officiate. Interment will follow in Floral Memory Gardens Cemetery.

A native of Mitchell Co., GA, Rev. Carlisle had resided in Albany, GA all of his adult life before moving to Leesburg, GA. He was retired from the City of Albany and was a retired truck driver. He had served several churches in the area and the last church served was Harmony Baptist Church in Blakely, GA. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Lorene Davis Carlisle and a son, Jerry Carlisle.

Survivors include his wife, Millicent Fincher Carlisle, Arlington, GA, three sons, Rev. Tommy Carlisle (Elise), Waynesville, NC, Mickey Carlisle (Angela), Bainbridge, GA, Russell Carlisle (Teresa), Chattahoochee, FL, two daughters, Janice Deal (Eddie), Cuthbert, GA, Trudy Watson (Keith), Newton, GA, three step-daughters, Deidre Lisenby, Arlington, GA, Teresa Spears (Marty), Tallahassee, FL and Robin Spurlock, Arlington, GA, nineteen grandchildren and fourteen great-great grandchildren.

The family headquarters will be at 140 Creekside Dr., Leesburg, GA.

The family will receive friends Friday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Mathews Funeral Home.
