Regena Lamey Turner

Well done, good and faithful servant. You have fought a good fight and have kept the faith. Regena Lamey Turner of Albany, GA., went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday, August 6, 2024 at Willson Hospice House. Funeral services will be held Sunday 3:00 PM at Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Corey Shiver, Rev. Karen Carr, and Rev. Jack Collins will officiate. A private interment will be held at Leesburg Cemetery.

Born in Decatur, AL to the late Rev. Perry and Thelma Lamey, the family traveled all over the United States pastoring churches. They instilled in her at an early age to put God first and trust in God no matter what, an attribute she carried throughout her life. She graduated from Bainbridge High School and attended Lee University. Mrs. Turner was a legal secretary for several law firms in the Albany area. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and Nena.

In 2001 along with her husband Rev. Chris Turner, they started Lighthouse Ministries in Albany, GA. Regena was truly a faithful servant and worked in every area of the church. From leading music, playing the piano, working at church events, encouraging members to worship God in service, she did it all. She stood in the gap and interceded for countless people throughout the ministry. Most recently she worked for the Lord by calling and encouraging people while she was battling cancer herself. No matter what they faced she always put God first and trusted in God and clung to His promises. She not only talked about God but lived a Godly life in her everyday life.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brothers Gregory Lynn Lamey and Perry “Eddie” Lamey, Jr. and a grandson Bradley Turner.

Survivors include her husband of forty years Rev. Chris Turner, her four boys and her “daughters”, Chris Turner (Sara), Jonathan Turner (Tricia), Ben Turner (Megan) and Josh Turner (Kayla) and her beloved grandchildren, Bowden, Wyatt, Emma, Maddox, Hudson and Rylee and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

The family will receive friends Saturday 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Mathews Funeral Home.

The funeral service will be live streamed on Mathews Funeral Home Facebook page.
