Rebecca Ann Weldon

Rebecca Ann Weldon, born on July 9, 1960, to William Vinson and Belle Marie Powell, passed away peacefully on November 12, 2024. A proud graduate of Colquitt County High School, Class of 1979, Rebecca was a beacon of strength and resilience, celebrated as a 14-year cancer survivor. 

Rebecca dedicated her life to her four children and cherished her role as a loving mother and grandmother. She found joy in gardening, crafting, and spending quality time with her grandchildren, who brought her immeasurable happiness. 

She leaves behind her loving sister, Elizabeth Pocheco, and brothers, James Vinson, Kenneth Vinson, and Ray Vinson. Her legacy also includes her daughters, Amanda Gregory (Jack) and Kristy Weldon, and her son, Larry Weldon. She was the proud grandmother of Lois Friedman, Jeremy Pettis, Tyler Pettis, Keegan Weldon, Annabell, Rylan, Zack, and Finaly Weldon. 

Rebecca is predeceased by her beloved mother, Marie Powell, sisters Evelyn Vinson and Patricia West, brothers William Vinson and Stevie Vinson, her fiancé James Crosby, and her daughter Brandy Pettis. 

Rebecca’s warm spirit, love for family, and determination will be deeply missed by all who knew her. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to a cancer research organization of your choice in her honor. 

Rest in peace, Rebecca. Your light will continue to shine in the hearts of those you touched.
