Randy Deryl Tucker, age 76, passed away peacefully on March 2, 2023 at his home in Spring Hill, Tennessee surrounded by his family. Prior to moving to Tennessee, Randy lived in Albany, GA for over 65 years.
His funeral service will be Monday at 2:00 PM at Byne Memorial Baptist Church with interment to follow in Crown Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Byne Memorial Baptist Church.
Randy was born April 21, 1946 in Savannah, GA to Robert and Julia (Jube) Tucker. He graduated from Albany High School in 1964 and Georgia Southwestern in 1969.
While attending Albany High School, Randy met and later married his high school sweetheart, Jane Bowman Tucker, and they were married for almost 56 years having two daughters Carrie Tucker Pirtle and Brooke Tucker Elder whom he cherished.
Randy served in the US Air Force during the Vietnam War with tours at Clark Air Force Base in Luzon, Philippines; Robins Air Force Base in Warner Robin, GA and McDill Air Force Base in Tampa, FL, serving in the communications systems at all bases.
After leaving the Air Force, he was employed by Firestone in Albany, GA and then he began a 30-year career with The Hartford Insurance Company as an adjuster. His time at The Hartford was filled with amazing coworkers and he felt he had one of the best jobs in the world.
His greatest blessings in this life were his love for his family and his friends. During his time in Albany, Randy could be found weekly at Pearly’s with his friends solving all the world's problems. When not there, he enjoyed golfing with his buddies. He was a member of Byne Memorial Baptist Church for over 60 years and served as a deacon, led several Sunday School classes with Jane and was actively involved in Samaritan’s Purse. After relocating to Tennessee, he was a member of The Church at Station Hill in Spring Hill, TN and involved with Carpenter's Hands. Randy had two other loves in life, gardening and the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets.
Preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Julia (Jube) Tucker. He is survived by his loving wife, Jane Bowman Tucker and his children Carrie Tucker Pirtle (Jon) of Waleska, GA and Brooke Tucker Elder (Tate) of Nashville, TN. He has four amazing grandchildren; Taylor Ray Harrell, Abigail Elder, Olivia Elder and Jeremiah Pirtle. He is also survived by two brothers Keithen Tucker and Bishop Tucker and one sister, Denise Tucker Gleiter.
