Ralph C. Thrower, Jr.

Ralph C. Thrower, Jr., 93, of Albany, GA, died August 23, 2022 at Jo-Anne Burgin Health and Rehabilitation Center in Cuthbert, GA.  Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 3, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at Mathews Funeral Home.  Rev. Dalton Scott Smith will officiate.  Interment will follow in Floral Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Mr. Thrower was born in Pineville, NC to Ralph C. and Lola Thrower, Sr. and graduated from Oakhurst High School in Charlotte, NC. He moved to Albany, GA from Augusta, GA in 1954 and was employed with Akers Motor Lines.  After his retirement, Mr. Thrower was a self-employed Farrier and Auctioneer (Colonel).  Mr. Thrower was a member of Avalon United Methodist Church, The Artist Blacksmith Association, The Quarter Horse Association and the Dougherty County Saddle Club. He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Elaine Thrower, and a grandson, Robert Thrower.

Survivors include his wife, Ann Thrower of Albany, GA, four children, Russell (Liz) Thrower of Leesburg, GA, Linda Billings of Chula, GA, Rebecca Peak of Albany, GA and Ralph C. (Barbara Ann) Thrower, III of Graves, GA and three grandchildren, Chris Peak of Apalachicola, FL, Ralph “Ralphie” C. Thrower, IV and Elizabeth (Keith) Moore all of Parrott, GA.

The family will receive friends one hour before the service at Mathews Funeral Home.
