Rachel Young Beamon Baker

Rachel Young Beamon Baker, 86, of Leesburg, GA, died Monday, October 13, 2014 at Palmyra Nursing Home. Graveside funeral services will be conducted Thursday, October 16, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. at Smithville City Cemetery. Rev. Bobby Moye will officiate.

A native and lifelong resident of Lee Co., GA, Mrs. Baker was a retired seamstress having worked with Manhattan Shirt Factory and was preceded in death by her parents, Simmie Lee Young and Mary Deriso Young, two husbands, Mitchell Lewis Beamon and J.W. Baker, a son, Jim Beamon and two brothers, Henry Young and Richard Young.

Survivors include three sons and their wives, Robert (Buddy) Beamon (Winnie), and David Beamon (Betty) all of Leesburg, GA and John R. Beamon (Karen), Leesburg, GA, three sisters, Nancy Greene, Albany, GA, Sara Robinson, Shreveport, LA, Joyce Davis (George), Smithville, GA, a brother, Roy Young (Mattie), Albany, GA, twelve grandchildren, Kim Lawrence (Ricky), Warren Beamon(Kristi), Robert (Mitch) Beamon, Jr. (Julie), Valerie Tindell (Ryan), Betsy Beamon-Diaz (Jesse), Daniel Flint Beamon, John Russell Beamon (Reagen), Heidi McKissick (Chase), Gina Stahl (David), Tiffany Phillips (Tim), Jim Beamon, Jerome (Crockett) Beamon and eighteen great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Mathews Funeral Home.

The family is at the residence of Robert (Buddy) Beamon and Winnie R. Beamon, 488 Gosa Rd., Leesburg, GA.
