Phyllis (Liz) Meilton, 95, of Albany, Georgia, passed peacefully at her home on July 6, 2017. A celebration of her life will be held at St. Patrick's Episcopal Church, Albany, GA, at 2:00 PM on Tuesday July 11, 2017.
Liz was born to Arthur and Ruth Perry of Warren, Maine. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Cyril, brothers Walter and Carl, and loving daughter Martha (Marty) Harris.
She is survived by her companion of many years Steve Kender and their beloved bulldog Georgia; sister Jeannette Mank of Warren, ME; stepsons Roger, Andrew and Mark; son-in-law Jeffrey Harris and his wife Julie of Lee County, GA, as well as many more relatives and friends.
Liz graduated from Warren High class of 1939 and was a member of the Warren Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir. She attended the Golden School of Beauty Culture in Portland, ME, eventually owning her own salon in Palm Beach, FL. Liz claimed her success in business was her ability to be a good listener, and that she never met a stranger.
An avid golfer, world traveler and dancer, she loved to spend time with friends and family, and was always up for a new adventure. Truly an amazing woman, loved by all.
