Phyllis Carpenter Clum, 70, of Albany, GA, died Thursday, September 1, 2016, at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 5, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Dana Swain will officiate. Interment will follow at Floral Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Mrs. Clum was born in Marshall, AR, to the late Everett Wayne and Marjorie Massey Carpenter. She previously lived in Marianna, FL, moving to Albany in 1966 where she worked at Coates and Clark, in the jewelry department of Wal-Mart and at Albany Health Care as a dietician. Mrs. Clum was a member of Liberty Baptist Church and also attended Liberty Parkway Church of God. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sons, Gary Wayne Carpenter Adams, William Franklin (Junior) Adams and her brother, Leroy Carpenter.
Survivors include one daughter Jean Adams McConnell, Albany, GA, a daughter in law Ida Adams, Albany, GA, two brothers, Eddie Dale Carpenter and his wife Carol, Putney, GA, Alvin Carpenter and his wife Adrianne, Albany, GA, three grandchildren, Michael Adams, Leighann Adams, both of Albany, GA, and Leslie McConnell, Tallahassee, FL., six great-grandchildren, Kason, Anthony, Baylie, Maddison, Aubrey and Ryleigh.
The family will receive friends Monday from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM at Mathews Funeral Home.
