Phillip Wayne May, 75, of Albany, GA., died Tuesday, November 5, 2024 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, November 14, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at Mathews Funeral Home. Mr. Ross Powell will officiate. A family interment will follow at Andersonville National Cemetery with military honors.
Phillip was born in Springfield, IL to the late Luther May and Mollie McMillan. After growing up in California, he served his country proudly in the United States Marine Corps and afterwards in the United States Air Force Reserves. He continued to serve his country in civil service employment for over 30 years. He was an active volunteer with the Boy Scouts for many years.
Phillip was preceded in death by his brothers Jerry, David, Freddy, and Johnny May, sister Mary Fulghum, and stepson Nicholas May. Survivors include his daughter, Erin Bray (Tom), grand daughters, Cassaundra Peters-Vasquez and Mekaela Bray, great grand daughter, Penelope Peters-Vasquez, and his son, John May (Carly) and the mother of John, Janie May, and grandson Gabriel Wager.
